We've lived in this house since Little Big Man was a year old. Since Hub is a builder, he's very handy with the hammer and nails. We've put a lot of sweat equity into this house and re-done rooms as we've had $$. For Thanksgiving, he wanted to finish trimming 3 windows. He didn't quite make it. In his defense, it's been cold and rainy here and he has to cut the boards in the garage and bring them to the house. Since it's such a nice day today, he decided to tackle the job.
The windows are in the hallway, kitchen, and living room. I promised to make curtains for the living room if he finished it before Thanksgiving. Technically, I don't have to do it right away, but it will make the room nicer if we having something to keep out the late afternoon sun.
This is the hallway window. It looks out on my mother-in-law's big red barn. Can you tell that it's late fall by looking at her leaf-less dwarf apple tree?
Here's the kitchen window. It's obviously on the same side of the house as the hallway window - just 10 feet further north. This is the window that has bothered me the most. For some reason the bugs all collect on this window when the sun shines. There's nothing I hate more than bug poop on the window. I'm hoping that trim around the window will keep the bugs away.
Finally the living room window. This is on the front of the house and is our eye on the road. Of course, it's also the animals' eye on the squirrels in the front yard. If Sophie's up there, sooner or later Dolly will be up there bugging her and looking for anything that crosses the yard so she can bark at it.
Hub complained when he trimmed the rest of the house that it looked great for a couple of days and then it disappeared into the background. "You only see when trim isn't there - the crappy looking drywall around the windows. I worked so hard and no one even notices!"
I notice and I'm thrilled he's getting it done, even if I have to be fetch it girl for a couple of hours.
